A gaggle of mid-Michiganders stroll 5 miles for charities 

LANSING, Mich.(WLNS)— Spreading consciousness was the objective for a bunch in Lansing, and so they did simply that by taking a stroll. 

From Mackinac Bridge to Munising to Marquette, Woody Ellis has now made his approach to Lansing Saturday for a neighborhood hike. 

Ellis says it’s all for spreading the significance of psychological well being. 

“And I’ve always loved walking too. So, like, that’s where this idea came from of,” said Ellis. “I just really love exploring places, and to have people be interested in doing that with me. There really is no words for it. It’s incredible.”

Ellis hosted a five-mile stroll round Lansing with dozens of his supporters. 

He says that each one the funds are handed over to native charities for everybody who paid to enroll in the occasion. 

“Everybody’s family has one of these issues. Maybe not necessarily the four causes that I’m working for,” said Ellis. “Two of them are general brain health. You can’t find anyone in this world that’s not dealing with something like this.” 

After being recognized with ADHD at a younger age, Ellis says he, himself has suffered from psychological well being points. 

“And I would just sit there in silence, and it was just destroying me,” said Ellis. “It made me feel not good growing up.” 

Though he’s confronted his battles, he says his walks had been impressed by his touring. 

“I was just trying to think of a way that I could still live my dreams and follow my passions,” said Ellis. “but give back and help in some way, and that’s what gave me the idea to do something extreme like walking.”

Ellis says to achieve out to your neighborhood for these struggling in silence. 

“Life is ebbs and flows,” said Ellis. “This is another word of wisdom I would give people. For everyone, is ebbs and flows.”
