A number of lanes of I-96 over M-99 in Ingham County to shut for rebuilding

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — The Michigan Division of Transportation (MDOT) will shut a number of lanes of I-96 over M-99 (Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.) and Washington Ave. in Ingham County for rebuilding on August 12.

MDOT reviews that this building is a part of a three-year, $44 million funding on I-96.

The mission contains rebuilding the eastbound and westbound I-96 bridges over Billwood Freeway, the Grand River, M-99, and Washington Avenue.

MDOT reviews that almost all of the development was accomplished in 2023 and 2024, with street work and crossover elimination being accomplished this yr.

Begin date: Tuesday, Aug. 12, at 9:00 a.m.

Estimated finish date: Thursday, Aug. 14, at 3:00 p.m.

Visitors restrictions: Eastbound and westbound I-96 can have one lane closed from Washington Avenue to M-99.
