Russian air defences might have shot down an Azerbaijan Airways flight after misidentifying it, in keeping with US navy sources.

Two different survivors described their experiences on the flight.

Jerova Salihat advised Azerbaijani tv that “something exploded” close to her leg and Vafa Shabanova stated there had been “two explosions in the sky, and an hour and a half later the plane crashed to the ground.”
