Ballot: Rogers leads Buttigieg in hypothetical Senate race

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — In a hypothetical U.S. Senate race between former U.S. Consultant Mike Rogers and former Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg, Michiganders are likelier to vote for Mike Rogers.

In an unique Epic MRA ballot, 47 p.c of respondents indicated they’d vote for Rogers, and 41 p.c had been in favor of Buttigieg. 12 p.c had been undecided.

Present U.S. Sen. Gary Peters is not going to be operating for re-election in 2026, leaving his seat up for grabs. There are different potential candidates for the Senate race together with Republican congressman John James and present Mich. Sen. Mallory McMorrow.

Buttigieg was once the mayor of South Bend, Indiana, however modified his residence to Michigan a number of years in the past, since his husband’s household lives within the Traverse Metropolis space.

The EPIC MRA survey of 600 seemingly Michigan voters came about between Feb. 3 and Feb. 8 and has a margin of error of plus or minus 4%. The ballot says 40% of respondents contemplate themselves Democrats, 45% Republicans, 12% independents, and the remainder had been undecided, selected one other occasion, or refused to reply the query.
