Since its launch in 2021, Benefit Magnificence has made a reputation for itself within the magnificence world with its minimalist, clear method. “We have always focused on slow intentionality and making products where we believe there’s white space,” Benefit Chief Advertising Officer Aila Morin advised Fashionista. “And we believe very clearly that even with the increased momentum of fragrance launches this year, they’ve almost just made our point stronger on where the white space is on having something clean and nuanced and grown-up and long-lasting and high quality. That still doesn’t really exist in the market, and absolutely not at a $92 price point.”
Whereas the model has but to disclose the complete design of the bottle on its Instagram web page, a sneak peek shared with the press provides a glimpse of its smooth, fashionable form. In true Benefit vogue, the bottle boasts a minimalist, sculptural design with a gold cap that enhances the model’s present assortment.

The model has reportedly been engaged on this perfume since its early days, referencing that very same “white space” in an interview with Vogue. “Frankly, there weren’t a lot of fragrances speaking to women in our age group, so we started concepting the Merit scent.” What resulted is a vintage-inspired perfume that resonates with Benefit’s 30- to 40-year-old shoppers.
“We created 200 different versions of the fragrance before we settled on the one in the bottle,” French perfumer Fanny Bal advised Vogue. “But I have to say, we’re not too far from the original idea.” The ultimate perfume options notes of vanilla, jasmine, and rose—modernized to really feel contemporary and modern fairly than merely nostalgic.
Carrying the perfume is an expertise in itself. “It opens quite soft and fresh,” Bal continued. “Like what you would want in the morning.
