A 26-year-old British man has died after falling from a bridge in Spain, in line with native authorities.
He fell whereas climbing the Castilla-La Mancha bridge in Talavera de la Reina – a metropolis in central Spain – the native mayor’s workplace stated in an announcement on Sunday.
Councillor for citizen security, Macarena Munoz, stated the person was accompanied by a 24-year-old British nationwide, and that the pair had travelled to the bridge to “create content” for social media.
“We have been able to find out, they had come to Talavera to climb the bridge and create content for social networks, which has resulted in this unfortunate and sad outcome,” Ms Munoz stated.
She stated climbing the bridge is “totally prohibited” and “cannot be done under any circumstances”, which the council has “reiterated on many occasions”.
The Castilla-La Mancha bridge was inbuilt 2011 and stands over the Tagus River.
A cable-stayed bridge, it consists of a foremost concrete pylon with a number of cables coming from the centre in a triangular form.
Standing at 192m (630ft) excessive, it was the tallest cable-stayed bridge in Spain on the time of its opening.
