'Brothers after conflict' documentary highlights veterans' struggles

EATON RAPIDS, Mich. (WLNS) — The VFW Nationwide Dwelling hosted a Veterans workshop and a free screening of the documentary “Brothers After War,” a movie that follows the lives of troopers through the conflict in Iraq.

The movie follows director Jake Rademacher and his highly effective journey together with his brothers and the troopers that he met through the peak of the Iraq Conflict between 2005 and 2007.

“Once I got there, I fell in love with the men and women that served, and was sort of blown away by the depth of their spirituality, the depth of their perspective,” said Rademacher. “The things that they were wrestling with.”

Not less than a dozen veteran and their households got here to look at the movie, which was launched again in February.

Forward of the screening of the movie, Rademacher talked in regards to the objective of the movie, which he says is to open up dialogue in regards to the trauma and the struggles veterans face whereas transitioning again into society.

The movie was sponsored by the Gary Sinise Basis, a charity group that helps veterans and first responders.

Sinise performed Lt. Dan within the 1994 movie Forrest Gump.
