“The weather’s been negative so we’ve been dealing with burst pipes lately a lot,” mentioned Peyton Tatroe, who works in emergency water elimination. He says pipe bursts have been nonstop.

When temperatures hit beneath freezing, it could actually trigger the water within your pipe to increase which then places strain on the partitions and may trigger it to burst.

Town of East Lansing confirmed that there have been water line breaks brought on by frozen pipes. Carrie Sampson, the communications director for town mentioned “The ice sealed the broken pipes, so when the outside temperature began to rise, it melted the ice plugs, allowing the water to flow.”
