Charlotte meals pantry expands as neighborhood want grows

CHARLOTTE, Mich (WLNS) – September is Starvation Motion Month, a time acknowledged each nationally and regionally by the Metropolis of Charlotte, targeted on constructing hunger-free communities.

“Hunger is something that never leaves,” said Amanda Thompson, executive director of Helping Hands Food Pantry. “We tend to think of it during the holidays, but it’s something that is with us all days of the year.”

Over time, she’s devoted her life to serving to these in want—so this month is de facto no completely different for her. 

“Once we all work collectively to place these puzzle items collectively, then we’re in a position to combat [hunger],” stated Thompson.
