Irish blended martial arts (MMA) fighter Conor McGregor “in effect raped” a lady who suffered a “violent and vicious assault” at his fingers, jurors at Dublin’s Excessive Court docket have been instructed.

The lady is claiming civil damages towards the Irish fighter and one other man, James Lawrence, alleging they sexually assaulted her in December 2018.

“She was at this level fully terrified. She subjected herself to what was about to occur, which was a violent and cruel assault.”

It is alleged later that she had sex with Mr Lawrence, but Mr Gordon said she has no recollection of such an event ever happening.

Woman taken to hospital in ambulance

After going home and visiting her mother, who called 999, the woman was taken to hospital in an ambulance.

The court was told that she was shaking and in pain while being transferred to hospital.

Mr Gordon said: “Within the face of this, Mr McGregor will inform you that this was a consensual encounter, that they have been simply having enjoyable and a little bit of tough intercourse. That is his reply.”

The defence claimed within the proof booklet that she had a number of alternatives to complain to individuals about how she was handled however didn’t.

Earlier, Justice Owens suggested jurors they need to choose the case on the information and never grow to be their very own “private detective” by doing impartial analysis.
