Corona, Huntington Seaside lose in match semifinals in North Carolina

Corona, Huntington Seaside lose in match semifinals in North Carolina

Corona and Huntington Seaside, the highest two highschool baseball groups in California, had been overwhelmed on Friday morning within the semifinals of the Nationwide Excessive College Invitational in Cary, N.C., by two prime groups from Florida.

Corona suffered its first defeat after 15 consecutive victories in a 5-0 loss to Venice. Ethin Bingaman gave up 4 runs within the the fifth inning. The Panthers had been restricted to 5 hits by sophomore pitchers Kasen Poplin and August Backman.

Huntington Seaside was overwhelmed by Jacksonville Trinity Christian 3-2 after giving up two runs within the backside of the seventh on an error.
