Courtroom doc exhibits Eaton County man was tortured for 4 days earlier than demise

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS)– 6 Information has obtained new courtroom paperwork concerning the torture and demise of a person who went lacking in December of final 12 months.

On December 11, 2024, the Eaton County Sheriff’s Workplace was despatched to the 4000 block of Michigan Street to research a report of an deserted automobile. Investigators say the automotive belonged to 42-year-old Gregory Brian Pennington.

4 suspects, Bradley Lance, 25, Lucas Forquer, 47, William Chaney, 40, and Janelle Mello, have been charged within the demise of Pennington. Within the courtroom doc, police say Pennington was bodily assaulted, tortured for 4 days, and finally murdered on November 15, 2024.

On November 11, 2024, Pennington and Mello arrived at Forquer and Chaney’s property to take a look at automobiles that have been being labored on by Chaney, based on the doc. Whereas visiting the property, Mello tells Chaney that Pennington has sexually assaulted her in her sleep and was overmedicating her. Within the doc, police say Chaney, Lance, and Forqure questioned Pennington and tortured him for 4 days. Pennington was compelled to kneel on rice, overwhelmed, shot within the foot, and compelled to signal over the titles to his truck and camper.

On November 14, 2024, police say Pennington was shot within the head by Lance. Police say Lance shot him after Pennington reportedly contacted his dad, Hugh Pennington, for cash and the title to the truck and his dad refused to assist.

“After the shooting, Chaney, Stauffer, Mello fled the property leaving Lance to clean up the scene and bury Greg in a swampy area at the rear of the property,” based on police within the courtroom doc.

A choose gave Lance a $250,000 bond, Forquer obtained a $25,000 bond, Mello obtained a $100,000 bond. These three suspects stay behind bars as of Wednesday afternoon.

A choose gave Chaney a $50,000 bond, which has been posted, leading to Chaney being launched from jail.
