The congregation is made up of farm and manufacturing unit employees who associated to the pope’s humble upbringing and management model, and so they noticed him as one in every of their very own.

“You know, it’s a good representation seeing a Pope that comes from a place similar to mine, we can see someone we can identify with to be able to have, you know, an Argentinean, Latin American Pope that we have had,” mentioned Father Vincent Richardson. “Yeah, that lifts up the spirits and draws A deeper connection with the members of our congregation for sure.”

Father Vincent (WLNS).

As church leaders put together to select their subsequent pope, Father Vincent is asking the church to maintain up the stress on subjects he sees as ethical points, like immigration and LGBTQ+ rights.

“Preaching faith and morality, however it applies privately or publicly, is part of the role of the clergy,” mentioned Father Vincent.

Father Vincent says now could be the time for church leaders to pursue a future that opens its arms to everybody.

“Being able to reach out to others, maybe not the select few, but the whole, and I think Pope Francis did that, and I would if I had any voice whatsoever in that,” mentioned Father Vincent. “That’s kind of the focus that I would, I would drive home, reaching out to everybody and having a space for everybody.”

Father Vincent says that the lack of Pope Francis has been arduous, however within the subsequent few days, he will probably be targeted on the message of rebirth that comes with easter.

Earlier this 12 months, Francis instructed the trustworthy that he needed this to be a 12 months of jubilation—and church leaders don’t desire his loss of life to get in the way in which of that.
