Delhi Township recieves federal rebate for brand spanking new photo voltaic panel system

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS)– A couple of Delhi Township services will get a brand new look with lined parking with a brand new cost-saving photo voltaic panel system.

The Township services getting photo voltaic panels embrace:

The Division of Public Works and Upkeep Constructing

The remedy lagoons on McCue Street

The carry stations on Waverly Street and Eifert Street

Sam Corey Senior Heart

Neighborhood Providers Heart

The Township spent a yr working with Veregy, an organization that focuses on power effectivity options. The photo voltaic panels challenge will earn a $1 million rebate via the Inflation Discount Act (IRA).

“This project is a big win for the Township,” stated Tracy Miller, Township supervisor. “It will mean significant savings on energy costs, create covered parking at key Township facilities and give us an opportunity to replace deteriorating parking lots at the Senior Center and the Township offices, which is also home to our library.”

“The IRA rebate is expected to offset the costs of the infrastructure improvement projects,” Miller stated in a information launch.

“Energy savings will continue for decades. The lifespan of the solar panels is at least 30 years and in the final 10 years of their lifespan, the Township expects to save about $270,000 per year, totaling around $2.7 million,” Miller stated.
