Freed couple reunites with daughter

Abdul Qahar Balkhi, a spokesperson on the Taliban authorities’s international ministry, stated in a press release posted on X that the couple “violated Afghan law” and had been launched from jail after a courtroom listening to.

He didn’t say what regulation the couple had been alleged to have damaged.

Mr Reynolds advised her: “We are just very thankful.”

His spouse added: “We’ve been treated very well. We’re looking forward to seeing our children.

“We’re wanting ahead to returning to Afghanistan if we are able to. We’re Afghan residents.”

The couple have lived in Afghanistan for 18 years and run an organisation referred to as Rebuild, which offers schooling and coaching programmes.

They’ve been collectively for the reason that Nineteen Sixties and married within the Afghan capital in 1970.
