Demise threats for former French president Nicolas Sarkozy – lower than a day into five-year jail sentence

Former French president Nicolas Sarkozy has been the goal of loss of life threats in jail – lower than a day after starting a five-year sentence for felony conspiracy.

A video circulating on-line, which appeared to have been filmed by an inmate, confirmed verbal threats being made on Sarkozy’s arrival at Paris’ La Sante jail.

In accordance with Reuters, the Paris prosecutor’s workplace was alerted to the video yesterday.

Three inmates have been questioned as a part of the investigation, and two cell phones have been seized throughout a search of the jail.

Sarkozy, who led France from 2007 to 2012, was jailed on Tuesday after being convicted of conspiring to lift marketing campaign funds from Libya.

Sarkozy is taking three books for the primary week – together with the Depend of Monte Cristo – the story of a person wrongfully imprisoned who later takes revenge.

The measure sparked complaints from unions.

Hugo Vitry, a guard at La Sante and head of the native department of the Power Ouvriere union, mentioned that they had not been knowledgeable about Sarkozy’s safety element.

“We have contacted the prison administration and the Ministry of Justice to demand explanations,” he added.
