Deputies determine man killed in I-96 semi-truck crash

Deputies determine man killed in I-96 semi-truck crash

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — The Ingham County Sheriff’s Workplace has recognized 58-year-old Timothy Meagher of Webberville as the person hit and killed by a semi-truck on I-96 Sunday afternoon.

The Ingham County Sheriff’s Workplace stories that deputies and members of the Northeast Ingham Emergency Providers Authority responded to I-96 westbound on the M-52 overpass for a report of a person being hit by a semi-truck.

First responders arrived to search out the Meagher’s physique on the freeway. Upon additional investigation, deputies realized that Meagher walked into the westbound lane of the freeway and was then hit by a semi-truck.

I-96 was closed at roughly 11:45 a.m. Sunday afternoon. The freeway was reopened at 3:43 p.m.

The Ingham Regional Crash Investigation Crew and the Medical Examiner’s Workplace assisted with the investigation and identification of the person.

The investigation is ongoing. The sheriff’s workplace is asking anybody who was within the space in the course of the crash to contact Deputy Ben Manns at 517-676-8444.
