PORTLAND TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Deputies say a girl suffered minor accidents and a person was arrested Friday in a capturing in Portland Township.

Round 12:45 p.m., deputies responded to a cellular house neighborhood on the 7000 block of E. Grand River Avenue, east of S. Keefer Freeway, for a reported capturing, in line with a launch from the Ionia County Sheriff’s Workplace. A lady had referred to as 911, telling dispatchers that she had been shot within the head by a person who she lived with, the discharge says.

The girl, 32, suffered minor accidents to her head and face, deputies say. Investigators on scene discovered that she had been “injured from fragmentation (stemming) from a firearm being discharged in her direction,” however she was not truly hit by any bullets, in line with the sheriff’s workplace. She was handled on scene however didn’t wish to go to the hospital, deputies say.

Alongside the Michigan State Police and Portland Police Division, deputies arrange a fringe and informed the suspect to exit the trailer. However deputies say the suspect — described as a 39-year-old Portland man — tried to flee by the again of the trailer.

There, he encountered a Ok-9 deputy. Because the deputy held the suspect at gunpoint and informed him to cease, a crew of officers moved in and took the person into custody, the discharge says.

After acquiring a search warrant for the house, deputies discovered weapons, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia inside, in line with the sheriff’s workplace.

The person was arrested on assault and gun costs, deputies say. His identify was not launched Friday.
