DNR warns of excessive fireplace danger this weekend

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — There’s a excessive fireplace danger this weekend because the Michigan Division of Pure Assets is asking residents to make use of excessive warning.

The DNR says forecasts predict hotter and dryer situations, which will increase the chance for wildfires. Southern areas can be most in danger and dry vegetation can simply burn, the DNR mentioned.

The DNR mentioned it understands that some residents would possibly wish to do yard work, however urged warning if you’re working outdoor.

“We understand that spring cleaning and yard maintenance is on everyone’s to-do list, but we urge residents to exercise caution,” DNR Useful resource Safety Supervisor Jeff Vasher mentioned. “A small fire can quickly get out of control under these dry conditions, and we ask that folks follow safe burning practices or postpone burning altogether, if possible.”

The DNR says if it’s essential burn, be certain to examine if burning is allowed in your space.

If burning is allowed, the DNR asks that residents hold burn piles small, have a water supply accessible and hold instruments close by to handle fires.
