‘Do not chew me’: Man dies after shark assault in Sydney

A person was heard screaming within the water moments earlier than he died after a shark assault in Sydney, witnesses have stated.

Emergency providers responded to stories {that a} man in his 50s had suffered crucial accidents at Lengthy Reef Seaside shortly after 10am (1am within the UK) on Saturday.

The person, whose identification has but to be confirmed, was delivered to shore however died on the scene, authorities have stated.

Two sections of a surfboard have been recovered and brought for examination, and seashores close to the realm are closed as drones seek for the animal.

Police are liaising with wildlife consultants to find out the species of shark concerned.

“There was a guy screaming, ‘I don’t want to get bitten, I don’t want to get bitten, don’t bite me,’ and I saw the dorsal fin of the shark come up, and it was huge,” Mr Morgenthal stated.

“Then I saw the tail fin come up and start kicking, and the distance between the dorsal fin and the tail fin looked to be about four metres, so it actually looked like a six-metre shark.”

Witnesses say the sufferer was introduced ashore by two fellow surfers and that members of the family of the person rushed to the scene.

Native surfer Invoice Sakula advised reporters on the seaside: “It’s going to send shockwaves through the community.

“Everybody goes to be just a little bit nervous for some time.”

Surf Life Saving NSW has deployed a drone to seek for additional shark exercise.
