LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Two individuals are lifeless and a 3rd is in custody in an incident Blackman-Leoni Township Public Security is asking a double murder.

Officers from the division say officers have been dispatched to a residence within the 6900 block of Welch Lake Rd. Saturday shortly earlier than 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 7, 2024, on a welfare test. On arrival, officers discovered an individual within the driveway. Officers reported in a information launch he was lifeless.

A subsequent search of the property led officers to find a second particular person lifeless on the property, officers introduced in a information launch.

Officers say the deceased are a 57-year-old male, together with a 70-year-old feminine.

Through the investigation, officers decided the second sufferer’s automobile was lacking from the scene. Shortly after placing out data on the lacking automobile, a license plate reader positioned the automobile within the village of Brooklyn and touring into Columbia Township.

Columbia Township police positioned the automobile and tried to conduct a visitors cease. Nevertheless, the driving force, recognized as a 40-year-old male, fled from the cease. He stopped shortly after the chase started and was taken into custody.
