North West England has formally entered a drought, the Atmosphere Company has mentioned.

The area entered drought standing on 21 Might because of low water ranges in reservoirs and rivers, the company mentioned.

The spokesperson added: “With further unsettled periods and rainfall over the coming weeks we will continue to closely monitor the situation and implement our North West Drought Plan.”
