East Lansing Metropolis Clerk points Election Day reminders

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — As Election Day approaches subsequent week, the East Lansing Metropolis Clerk is reminding voters of vital and helpful data as early voting begins.

“As we get closer to Election Day, voters should be reminded of their voting options. You have the choice to vote early, vote absentee or vote on Election Day,” East Lansing Metropolis Clerk Emily Gordon mentioned. “Our poll workers are excited to see the community come out and exercise their right to vote.”

Gordon says that the town mailed out 5,779 absentee ballots again in September and that, presently, round 2,000 have been returned. if you should flip in your absentee poll, the town clerk says you have got a couple of choices:

East Lansing Public Library, 950 Abbot Street

Returning it to the town clerk’s workplace at East Lansing Metropolis Corridor, 410 Abbot Street

Taking it to the town’s Early Voting Heart on the Hannah Neighborhood Heart, 819 Abbot Street.

The Early Voting Heart opens Wednesday and stays open via Sunday, with working hours of 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The town clerk’s workplace may also be open this weekend from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. to permit neighborhood members to register to vote or return their absentee ballots. Free parking might be obtainable in designated areas, in line with Gordon.

On Election Day itself, the town clerk says polls will open at 7 a.m. and stay open till 8 p.m., which can be the deadline for absentee voters to return their absentee ballots.
