Former Tory chairman Sir Jake Berry has defected to Reform, within the newest blow to the Conservatives.
The previous MP for Rossendale and Darwen, who served as Northern Powerhouse minister beneath Boris Johnson, stated he had defected to Nigel Farage’s get together as a result of the Tories had “lost their way”.
Talking to The Solar, Sir Jake stated Mr Farage’s get together was “last chance to pull Britain back from terminal decline”.
“Our streets are completely lawless,” he stated.
“Migration is out of control. Taxes are going through the roof.
“And day after day, I hear from folks in my group and past who say the identical factor: ‘This is not the Britain I grew up in’.”
Sir Jake accused his former get together of “abandoning the British people” however stated he was not “giving up”.
“I’m staying. And I’m fighting.”
