Nigel Farage has referred to as on farmers to proceed “persistent and peaceful” campaigning on new inheritance tax guidelines – claiming that Labour MPs in rural seats could be “getting scared”.

The Reform UK chief was talking earlier than a big tractor protest outdoors the Homes of Parliament this morning.

He added that future protests would put strain on Quantity 10 in the event that they see “local communities getting behind these families” who might be impacted by the adjustments.

Labour has insisted it is not going to make a U-turn on its plans to introduce a 20% inheritance tax charge on farms value greater than £1m.

The adjustments introduced within the finances are as a consequence of come into pressure in April 2026 and scrap an exemption which meant no inheritance tax was paid to move down household farms.

Monday’s rally, organised by Save British Farming, comes as MPs debate an e-petition with greater than 148,000 signatures that requires the present inheritance tax exemptions for working farms to be saved.

Talking at a Farmers To Motion marketing campaign occasion in north London earlier than the protest in Westminster, Mr Farage stated: “I’m pleased to see the campaign is ramping up. It’s growing right across the country.”

He added: “The message I’ve been putting to them, I think they’re listening to, which is 100 Labour MPs now represent rural seats – if they see local communities getting behind these families, they’re going to start getting scared, and they’re going to start putting pressure on No 10, and let’s face it, they’re in pretty big trouble already.

“So I believe if this marketing campaign is persistent and peaceable, they’ll get change.”

Mr Farage, who was joined on the occasion by skilled boxer Derek Chisora, stated the protesters had been “behaving impeccably” and may proceed to be “voluble, but peaceful within the law”.

Mr Farage additionally advocated “just getting rid of inheritance tax as a whole”.

“You’re basically taxing money that’s been taxed already as a death tax, and it’s horrible,” he stated.

“People living in semi-detached houses in London are now dragged into inheritance tax. And yes, of course, you can do seven-year planning and all the rest of it, but unlikely things happen. I honestly believe just getting rid of inheritance tax as a whole would be a good thing.”

The Nationwide Farmers’ Union – which has organised earlier protests on the problem – stated it helps any of its members collaborating on Monday.

NFU president Tom Bradshaw stated: “The strength of feeling around the proposed family farm tax is still incredibly high.

“We assist any members who need to participate in different respectful and lawful demonstrations which work in direction of our purpose to cease the household farm tax.”

The federal government says solely a small variety of the most important farming estates might be affected by its deliberate tax adjustments.
