LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Over the weekend, Fenner Nature Heart in Lansing celebrated a significant milestone—the fiftieth annual Maple Syrup Pageant.
The 2-day occasion featured quite a lot of hands-on actions and maple-themed threats. One of many highlights was the all-you-can-eat flapjacks for simply $10 a plate—with proceeds going to the Fenner Pancake Fundraiser.

“This is a special time of year here in Michigan and really for us, this is one of the times when we see the most people come out when spring hits. We’re finally shaking off those winter Blues a little bit and we can get out,” says Gabriel Biber, the chief director of Fenner Conservancy.
The pageant helps Fenner Conservancy, the nonprofit managing the middle in partnership with the Metropolis of Lansing.
“There’s so many different, amazing ways to experience nature right here at Fenner here in Lansing. So we’ve got our woods trails, we’ve got wetland habitats, we’ve got our Prairie, says Biber. “So this Maple Grove is basically simply one of many methods people can come out and luxuriate in nature right here.”
