EAST LANSING, Mich.(WLNS)—1000’s of Michiganders saddled up this weekend for all issues horse-like. 

The Michigan Horse Council hosted its forty second annual Michigan Horse Expo this weekend. 

Sasha Glover, Communications Director, says the expo helps educate neighborhood members on caring for his or her horses. 

“It’s a great opportunity to really speak with veterinarians, you know?” said Glover.  “Nutritionists, all of that, fence makers, barn makers, builders. They’re all here under one roof.” 

Glover says the present additionally permits Michiganders to realize hands-on expertise in caring for his or her horses with clinics and classroom shows.

Christina Salerno, Regional Gross sales Supervisor for Triple Crown and a vendor, says there are lots of misconceptions about horse vitamin. 

“I think people don’t realize how much hay horses each. Especially if you’re coming from other livestock,” said Salerno. “Horses need to eat a lot of hay, and a lot of good quality hay.”

MICHIGAN HORSE EXPO 2

Taylor Vanmalsen, a horse coach, trains folks for horse performances and says the expo helps her purchasers bond with their horses. 

“Basically improve their horsemanship with their horse to compete in these things like Liberty and Reining,” said Vanmalsen. “We work on the maneuvers, work on the connection with the horse and the handler.”

Karly Smith, an attendee and horse proprietor who needs to work on her horsemanship, has pushed her to coach with Vanmalsen. 

“She’s taught me the significance of sentimental and suppleness with my horse, and she or he’s completely superior my reining expertise,” stated Smith.
