Garcelle Beauvais Lends Her Voice to Poignant Marketing campaign on the Emmys

Past the glitz and glamour, the marketing campaign delivered an empowering message: Staying proactive about your well being is simply as necessary as proudly owning your age. The initiative raises important consciousness round shingles, a situation that may affect life’s most significant moments. The startling stats: An estimated 99 p.c of adults over 50 already carry the virus that causes shingles, even when they by no means develop the situation.

By means of highly effective storytelling, real-life experiences and superstar activations, the marketing campaign encourages adults 50+ to embrace their age boldly—and take steps to guard their well being, to allow them to proceed to thrive, shine and steal the present.

As actress and producer Garcelle Beauvais advised us, becoming a member of the challenge was a “no-brainer” for her. “The messaging is right on— not only for me, but for my family and for my friends over 50,” she says. “Being over 50, you are at risk for shingles, and I just think that it’s a great campaign. It’s about living your best life, but at the same time, helping you understand your risk of shingles.”

“It means living your best life—to wake up in the morning, and are excited about what’s ahead for the day. I think it’s all about we’re living longer, we need more joy in our lives. Any time you can thrive and help other people feel good, why wouldn’t you?”

And there’s some “feel-good” tonight with the Emmy Awards. What are you most enthusiastic about?

“I am excited to see all of the glamour, all the fashion, run into some friends. And really just a great night of celebrating television.”

Inform me concerning the glam. What are a few of your glam day-of suggestions if you find yourself doing an enormous present like this?

“Definitely hydrate, but don’t hydrate too much! Once you put on the dress, you may not be able to go to the bathroom, like me today. It’s about getting some rest, it’s about talking to my glam team and deciding what the look is and what the inspiration is all about.”

And when the present is over, what are you doing?

“Get out of the dress, grab a burger and a glass of champagne!”
