Governor asks for $1M to analyze Oxford capturing

Governor asks for M to analyze Oxford capturing

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Gov. Gretchen Whitmer has included a $1 million fund to evaluation the Oxford Excessive College capturing within the new state price range.

On Nov. 30, 2021, 4 college students have been killed within the capturing and 7 others have been injured at Oxford Excessive College in Oxford, MI.

This submitting was listed within the State’s govt price range for fiscal years 2026 and 2027 as a one-time basic fund, “to support a review of the handling of the events in November 2021 at Oxford High School.”

The price range plan would not embody specifics on how the funds can be used within the investigation.

Households of victims and survivors of the capturing have demanded a brand new state-led investigation into the occasions main as much as the tragedy.

In Nov. 2024, Michigan Lawyer Common Dana Nessel mentioned a brand new investigation was out of her management.
