UPDATE: The lockdown at Harmony Excessive Faculty in Jackson County has been lifted, in response to the college district.
“The situation that prompted our shelter-in-place has been fully resolved with the support of local authorities,” Jill Snyder, Excessive Faculty Principal of Harmony Group Faculties stated. “We are incredibly proud of how our students remained calm, vigilant, and positive throughout the investigation related to the social media post. We have been given clearance to resume all normal school activities for the remainder of the day. Thank you to our students, staff, and families for your cooperation and support.”
LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Harmony Excessive Faculty, positioned in Jackson County, has been positioned on lockdown “due to a social media post indicating potential violence.” That is in response to a submit on the college’s residence web page put out by Dr. Rebecca Adams-Hutchinson, Superintendent of Harmony Group Faculties.
The varsity says it’s working with native authorities and has the suspect detained.
“Our staff and students’ safety is our top priority,” the Excessive Faculty wrote on its web site. “We will remain in a lockdown at the high school until the building is deemed safe by law enforcement.”
The varsity made it clear that this lockdown is just for the highschool and all actions at different college district buildings proceed as regular.
“Lockdown is implemented when a threat of violence is identified on the campus, or the school is directed by law enforcement to implement Lockdown,” the college reported. “Students are to remain in designated classrooms or lockdown locations at all times with doors locked and barricaded, until cleared by law enforcement or site administration.”
