Household-owned restaurant raises cash for earthquake victims

LANSING, Mich.(WLNS)—Naing Myanmar Resort hosted a fundraiser to assist these affected by the lethal earthquake in Southeast Asia. 

The family-run restaurant organized a fundraiser Sunday afternoon, drawing dozens of supporters from throughout the group. 

Their mission? Ship pressing reduction to household and buddies impacted by the catastrophe again dwelling. 

The earthquake, one of many strongest to strike the area in latest reminiscence, has left hundreds displaced and with out entry to requirements like meals, electrical energy, and clear ingesting water.

Mi Thanda, one of many homeowners of Naing Myanmar Restaurant, says that in simply sooner or later, they raised almost $5,000. 

“My friend’s families are also in a tough situation. People have died. Their house was destroyed.  That’s why we started raising money to support them. So, they don’t run out of food and clothes, or electricity. Most important is water,” stated Thanda. 

Thanda says she’s grateful to the group for serving to them throughout a troublesome time. 

“I would like to say thank you to the city of Lansing. Thank you to our customers and friends. To help support us. This donation is going to go back to our friends and family. Wherever they need when they need it. So we can get it to them right away. So, thank you so much,” stated Thanda.
