Ingham County awards almost .5M in housing and homeless grants to help providers

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — The Ingham County Housing Belief Fund has introduced that 9 nonprofits and native government-run packages will obtain $2.48 million in Housing & Homeless Millage grant awards to assist residents at the moment experiencing or liable to homelessness.

The grants are designed to develop emergency shelters, important providers, shelter diversion, and housing case administration, the county mentioned.

The Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorised $1 million in 2024 Housing and Homeless Millage funds, committing so as to add almost $1.5 million in 2025.

The next 9 packages will obtain funding, with awards of as much as $400,000 by way of 2027:

Youngster and Household Charities: Shelter Diversion Program, offering direct housing and help to assist contributors retain or safe housing and keep away from homelessness.

Haven Home: Emergency Shelter providers, together with outreach and housing help.

Ingham County Well being Division: Shelter and Eviction Diversion and SOAR (SSI/SSDI Outreach, Entry, and Restoration) case administration providers.

Mid-Michigan Tenant Useful resource Heart: Disaster help and tenancy empowerment, together with useful resource navigation and court docket accompaniment.

Refugee Improvement Heart: Refugee Newcomer Navigation Program, offering housing navigation and important housing assets.

DAP Companies and Sources: Senior Stability Program delivering emergency shelter and housing help for susceptible seniors and chronically in poor health residents.

Punks with Lunch: Avenue Outreach program buying and retrofitting a cell hygiene unit to offer providers to unhoused neighbors.

Constitution Township of Meridian: MC4MT (Meridian Cares for Meridian Township) eviction prevention and direct housing help.

Mason Neighborhood Faculties: House Candy House Program for eviction prevention and housing help.
