An intensive multi-agency search off Eire’s coast for a lacking sailor linked to the Royal Navy has ended with out success, the Ministry of Defence has stated.
The Royal Fleet Auxiliary (RFA) Tidesurge crew member was final seen at about 10.30pm on Friday.
The search has been going down within the sea off the northwest coast between Tory Island, Co Donegal, and Eagle Island, Co Mayo.
Defence Secretary John Healey stated: “After an extensive search, it is with deep sadness that we confirm the missing crew member of RFA Tidesurge has not been found.
