LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Residents of Ionia County have been receiving calls from somebody pretending to be a member of the Ionia Division of Public Security, in line with the sheriff.
The Ionia County Sheriff’s Workplace says a scammer has been calling individuals falsely claiming to be from the company—telling victims that there’s a warrant out for his or her arrrest.
The scammer then tells the sufferer that they’ll pay their “bond” within the type of pay as you go present playing cards or Greendot playing cards.
The sheriff’s workplace syas no ppolice company within the state would ever name to gather any kind of bond over the cellphone for excellent warrants.
