Joker: Folie a Deux leads Razzie Awards nominations

Joker: Folie a Deux leads this yr’s Razzie nominations – 5 years after the primary movie led the nods for the Oscars.

The notorious Golden Raspberry Awards mark the movies its voters consider to be the worst of the yr, with the winners all the time introduced the evening earlier than the Academy Awards.

Different actors nominated for what the Razzies describes as “less-than-stellar star turns in 2024” embody Jennifer Lopez (Atlas), Kevin Hart (Borderlands), and considered one of Donald Trump’s newly appointed obvious “ambassadors to Hollywood” Jon Voight.

Voight has a “near record” 4 titles (Megalopolis, Reagan, Shadow Land and Strangers) which were included in consideration for his nomination for worst supporting actor, organisers mentioned.

In the meantime, in competition for worst director alongside Coppola for Megalopolis are SJ Clarkson (Madame Net), Todd Phillips (Joker: Folie a Deux), Eli Roth (Borderlands), and Jerry Seinfeld (Unfrosted).

The Razzies nominations come a day earlier than the shortlists for the Oscars are introduced.

Greater than 1,200 Razzie members – “movie buffs, film critics and journalists” from throughout the US and greater than 20 different nations – voted for the nominees.

The winners will probably be unveiled on Saturday 1 March, with the Oscars ceremony going down on Sunday 2 March.
