GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — The Mackinac Bridge is closed to some automobiles Monday morning resulting from excessive winds.
Solely passenger automobiles, passenger vans and empty pickup vans are allowed on the bridge, the Mackinac Bridge Authority stated. Wind speeds within the Straits space have reached 64 mph.

These driving on the bridge should drive at 20 mph or beneath and may concentrate on robust winds blowing throughout the bridge.
“The Mackinac Bridge Authority is monitoring wind speeds at various points along the structure,” the bridge authority stated. “Additional steps will be implemented if conditions change.”
