Katy Perry is about to go to house as a part of an all-female mission.
The 40-year-old singer will journey on the following launch of Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin rocket, the aerospace engineering firm mentioned.
The Teenage Dream singer can be joined on the New Shepard programme’s eleventh human flight by former NASA rocket scientist Aisha Bowe, analysis scientist Amanda Nguyen, movie producer Kerianne Flynn and TV hosts Gayle King and Lauren Sanchez – who can also be Bezos’ fiancee.
The mission will “challenge [the crew’s] perspectives of Earth”, “empower them” and “create lasting impact that will inspire generations”, in accordance with organisers.
Perry is among the best-selling music artists of all time, with greater than 115 billion streams.
She mentioned she hopes her journey will encourage her daughter and others to “reach for the stars, literally and figuratively”.
To this point, the New Shepard programme has flown 52 individuals above the Karman line, which is internationally recognised because the boundary of house.
