Lansing Catholic held a celebration meeting in the highschool’s gymnasium to honor the ladies for this system’s first state championship since 2017.

“Somebody said something about making all-state. I said, ‘they’re not going to do an assembly if you’re all-state. They will if you win a state title,'” Lansing Catholic cross nation coach Tim Simpson mentioned. “It gives the girls the recognition they deserve.”

The Cougars had three freshmen of their varsity lineup, together with Josie Bishop, who had the highest particular person end for the champs.

“I definitely knew we were going to have a good team, but I wasn’t sure if we were going to go all the way to states,” Bishop mentioned. “It was pretty cool that we got to do that.”
