LANSING, Mich.(WLNS) — A girl charged in two separate baby abuse incidents remains to be working at a mid-Michigan daycare facility. 

A mom who needs to stay nameless tells 6 Information the director of the Pleased Elephant daycare in west Lansing, Rebecca Kenney, assaulted her one-year-old son again in September 2024. 

Kenney is already going through two separate costs of kid abuse. 

“The director of Happy Elephant had slapped my son on the mouth. I was upset. I was super upset,” said the mother. “As a parent, you send your kids to daycare while you go to work so you make a living.” 

She says she obtained a name from the Eaton County Sheriff’s Workplace and Baby Protecting Providers about her son and that after she discovered the information, she instantly pressed costs and eliminated her son from daycare, then spoke to the proprietor immediately. 

“I asked her if it was appropriate, in her opinion, that she had someone with an alleged child abuse case pending, charges pending, and she told me that it was none of my business,” said the mother. “That I need to, if I wasn’t comfortable, I needed to pull my son out.”

The mom says she already had issues in regards to the director, Rebecca Kenney, earlier than her son was assaulted.

“His belongings had been left there. I used to be simply not comfy going again to that atmosphere,” stated the mom. 

Court docket paperwork say that Kenney has been charged with baby abuse of the 4th diploma for pulling a toddler’s hair. That case is from 2024. Court docket information present that Kenney is now going through one other related cost for a separate incident.
