LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — The Listening Ear, a Lansing-based disaster prevention heart, will shut later this month after years of service.
The announcement was made on Tuesday on the middle’s Fb web page.
“After more than 55 years of listening with compassion and care, The Ear will be winding down operations and will no longer be taking calls,” the Ear mentioned.
Its final day of operation might be on July 15, the identical date that the service started in 1969.
“This decision comes after thoughtful reflection and deep gratitude for generations of volunteers, staff, callers, and supporters who have made the Ear what it is: a place of connection, empathy, and hope,” the Ear mentioned.
‘We’re extremely pleased with the impression we have had and the lives we have touched.”
The Ear was made up of an all-volunteer workers, who had been skilled to assist these with crises that embrace melancholy, suicide, loneliness, sexual assault, grief, and others.
