Lansing man sentenced for submitting faux grant functions

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — A decide sentenced Leslie Buck, 25, of Lansing to 2 years of probation and conditional jail time Wednesday after he pleaded responsible to submitting fraudulent grant functions to the state.

In line with Michigan Legal professional Normal Dana Nessel, Buck was charged in December for submitting faux Rising MI Enterprise Grant functions to the state.

The grant program is designed to distribute as much as $409 million in American Rescue Plan Act funds to eligible companies who skilled monetary hardship on account of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Buck pleaded responsible in June to seven counts of perjury and one rely of utilizing a pc to commit against the law.

Wednesday, a decide sentenced him to 2 years of probation with credit score for 100 days in jail already served. A further sentence of 200 days in jail was suspended pending profitable completion of the probationary time period.
