Ledger scammers are sending letters to steal your restoration section

Ledger confirmed as we speak {that a} letter claiming to be from the crypto pockets’s safety crew is a rip-off, and warned customers to disregard it and hold their crypto pockets restoration phrases to themselves.

It claims to be from Ledger’s “Security and Compliance” and asks customers to surrender their restoration phrase in response to a “critical security update.” 

“Failure to complete this mandatory validation process may result in restricted access to your wallet and funds,” the rip-off doc reads. 

Ledger admits impersonation scams are “common”

In response to the publish, Ledger warned, “Scammers impersonating Ledger and Ledger representatives are unfortunately common.”

It reminded customers, “Always remember: Ledger will never call, DM, or ask for your 24-word recovery phrase. If someone does, it’s a scam. Stay cautious and keep your crypto safe.”

This isn’t the primary bodily rip-off Ledger has seen. In 2021, after struggling a leak a 12 months earlier, Ledger customers started receiving Ledger gadgets within the mail that have been tampered with and designed to put in malware upon use.
