“Along with the financial and environmental advantages, introducing the A320neo will present passengers with a higher vary of locations.

“The aircraft can travel over 1,000km, covering a significant portion of mainland Europe.

“The broader providing will enable passengers, together with native residents, the chance to journey for leisure or go to household and associates overseas extra conveniently.

“Were we to be successful in our application, this would send a positive signal to investors that Britain is open for business.”

London Metropolis’s letter to Ms Reeves comes with aviation capability on the forefront of Labour’s financial agenda.
