London Underground drivers have been suspended deliberate strikes over pay after saying they obtained an “improved offer”.
Members of Aslef had been on account of stroll out on Thursday and once more subsequent Tuesday – which might have closely impacted Tube providers.
The Rail, Maritime and Transport union had already referred to as off strikes by its members after resolving a dispute over pay.
“Details of the offer will be discussed with our reps at a meeting on Thursday. We are pleased that this progress has been made and that strike action has been averted at this time.”
Claire Mann, Transport for London’s chief working officer, stated: “We are pleased that Aslef has suspended its planned industrial action on the Tube and that Londoners will not be disrupted this week or next.
“We consider that now we have made a proposal to our commerce unions that’s honest, reasonably priced, good for our colleagues and good for London – and we urge our commerce unions to proceed working with us.”
