LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Jackson Police arrested a 43-year-old man for stabbing a safety guard at a financial institution with an engraving pen.
Officers responded to the Flagstar Financial institution on W. Michigan Ave. in Jackson shortly after 5 p.m. Investigators say the financial institution was closed and the safety guard was blocking the door as workers tried to depart for the day.
The suspect then tried to enter the financial institution, resulting in a struggle between the suspect and the safety guard. Officers say the suspect stabbed the safety guard on the left aspect of his face with a pen.
When officers arrived on the scene, the suspect was nonetheless there, holding the pen in his hand. He then ran away on foot however was caught and brought into custody.
The suspect was taken to the Jackson County Jail for assault with a lethal weapon and resisting and obstructing.
