‘Mass casualty incident’ after kids and adults eat ‘poisonous mushrooms’ in Pennsylvania

A gaggle of youngsters and adults have been taken to hospital within the US after ingesting “toxic mushrooms”, in what has been described as a “mass casualty incident”.

Emergency providers in Peach Backside Township, Pennsylvania, have been alerted after 11 folks grew to become ailing after ingesting the fungi on Friday.

That they had eaten “toxic mushrooms and were all ill”, the Delta-Cardiff Volunteer Fireplace Firm stated.

It described the state of affairs as a “mass casualty incident” and stated emergency items have been dispatched from a number of counties within the space.

Laura Taylor, Delta-Cardiff fireplace chief, stated all of the adults and kids have been in a steady situation after being taken to hospital, native tv station WPMT reported.

Peach Backside Township is about 56 miles (90km) southeast of Harrisburg, the capital of Pennsylvania state.
