LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — The Metropolis Rescue Mission of Lansing will formally open a brand new shelter location in downtown Lansing Tuesday, Aug. 26, the group introduced Monday.
The situation, which the Metropolis Rescue Mission calls a Single Grownup Shelter (SAS), will start operations at 415 W. Kalamazoo St on Tuesday, housing the group’s males’s shelter companies, beforehand situated on Michigan Ave.
Moreover, the shelter will host the Outreach-Drop-in Heart, which the Metropolis Rescue Mission says will assist serve the town’s homeless inhabitants by offering meals and shelter in a “centralized location.”
Building on the brand new location started in 2024. Based on the group’s web site, the undertaking entailed renovating the services to put in dorm rooms, workplaces warming kitchen, and cafeteria, in addition to lavatory and bathe services. Moreover, two separate properties needed to be mixed into one.
