Michigan certifies 2024 normal election

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Michigan’s Board of State Canvassers voted unanimously to certify the 2024 normal election on Friday, following certifications in all 83 counties earlier this month. A little bit over 5.7 million Michiganders voted on this election—the best state turnout in historical past.

“Our state and county canvassing boards have all fulfilled their lawful duty to certify the results of Michigan’s 2024 General Election,” Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson mentioned. “I’m grateful for the dedication of the skilled, bipartisan clerks and ballot staff who as soon as once more ensured that the election was protected, safe and that the outcomes precisely mirror the need of the voters.”

Any candidates who want to request a recount should achieve this by Monday morning. Nevertheless, the deadline varies relying on the race: President, U.S. Senate, and multi-county U.S. or Michigan Home races, and all courtroom positions have to be filed by 11:21 a.m. Monday, whereas recounts for single-county U.S. Home or Michigan Home have to be filed by 11:29 a.m.
