DENVER (KDVR) — A 60-year-old girl from Michigan died whereas working the extremely marathon Hardrock 100 Endurance race in Colorado on Friday, in accordance with Silverton Medical Rescue.
The race takes place close to Silverton and challenges runners with its 102-mile working distance.
At 9:02 a.m. on Friday, the San Juan County Sheriff’s Workplace and the Silverton Medical Rescue workforce obtained a search and rescue name about an in-progress CPR being administered by the Hardrock 100 Security Sweep Group members.
The girl was positioned close to Gold Lake on Little Large Path in San Juan County.
The responding crews needed to take a 4×4 backcountry street earlier than mountaineering 1 / 4 mile to the girl.
Upon reaching the girl, the crews took over the resuscitation efforts, which had been unsuccessful.
The girl was pronounced lifeless at 10:27 a.m.
The San Juan County Colorado Coroners Workplace recognized the girl as Elaine Stypula.
