The lawsuit alleges that the RNC Election Integrity employees witnessed quite a few mail-in ballots being counted with lacking stub numbers—stub numbers being an election safety safeguard used to determine particular person ballots and be sure that an elector is casting the proper poll.

State legislation requires that ballots with a lacking stub or whose numbers don’t match should be rejected by native clerks and election inspectors. Voters are then given the chance to repair their poll as much as three days after Election Day.

Nonetheless, state Republicans declare that Benson issued election steering to election authorities to course of these mismatched ballots as “challenged” ballots as an alternative of “rejected.” These “challenged” ballots, they declare, are nonetheless tabulated by election inspectors and utilized to election outcomes.
